Hello everyone-
We are happy that is finally summer here, although it has been for almost all of June we are hopeful that it will stop
soon and the rest of July and August will be beautiful. We hope you are all enjoying the summertime and the sun.
The spring was full of activities, visitors and travels. In May my parents arrived while Eric deployed, it was nice to
have them here even though they got to witness the wonderful weather Kodiak can offer with sideways rain and low clouds everyday.
Curry had her yearly ballet rehearsal, she did such a great job and was a beautiful dove. She also completed kindergarten
and started tee-ball and soccer. She is growing up! Kenny is our sweet little man but definitely a 2 year old. He makes us
laugh constantly but he also keeps us on our toes 24 hours a day. I am trying to enjoy my last couple years at home with him
because before I know it he will be off to school like his sister. I also just finished my first 10K run.
Eric is a busy man at the airstation, the summers are always crazy. Basically we are never home and always trying to
make the best of what Kodiak and Alaska has to offer.
In late May we went on a 2 week RV-ing trip through the interior of Alaska. We enjoyed the scenery and the time together
as a family but have decided we like camping much more than RV-ing. We traveled with our good friends here, the Carters, and
saw some spectacular sites including Mt. McKinley. We have seen most of Alaska now, so we feel ready to move on next year.
Eric’s dad and step-mom made the trek up here in early June and we so enjoyed having them here. The kids love grandparent
interaction and hope they liked exploring Kodiak.
We had some great friends transfer out this year, the Soldanos and Naffs, we will miss you dearly. We only have one year
left here and we are anxious to depart on our next adventure. We are hopeful that it will be somewhere warm and sunny!
As most of you know my dad has been diagnosed with prostate cancer . We are elated to report that his surgery to remove
his prostate went extremely well and his pathology report showed that the cancer was contained within the prostate gland!
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers!
We miss you all so much.
All of our love
Kate, Eric, Curry and Kenny
